Why Intentional Families?

Don’t stress, some families weren’t created intentionally, that doesn’t mean they have to stay that way...

I’m so glad you stepped in here!

My name is Jess and I have been working as a Counsellor for the last 6 years.

Throughout this time (11 years as of July 2019!) I have also been building my own family with my husband, 2 girls and one more on the way (stay tuned for the pink or blue!).

It has been real trial and error with our girls, facing secondary infertility, burnout from work, and living up to our values as a Christian family in the real world.

In my professional and personal life, I have seen first-hand the effects of stress and strain in the marriage and in parenting.

How seemingly little things can tear asunder a marriage that hung on for 30+ years when a change in direction in the early days could have made that stressful 30+ years into a life of great memories and anticipating the excitement of many more to come.

You know the stress and strain of real life. You know what it’s like to try and blunder through alone, trying to “think” your way out of the problems, to believe that a young family is supposed to be hard so you just grin and bear it while waiting for that elusive deep sleep at night...

Instead of continuing on this destructive path, I want to walk with you on the journey. To show you the tricks and techniques that helped get our family back on track and to stay there.

One where the intimacy in your marriage is palpable. One where you love your alone time, but having family time is genuinely enjoyable.

Most importantly, how you can support other families around you to enjoy the same freedom and beauty you will get to enjoy every. single. day.
